I have curated 6 International Paper Biennial
My main inspiration comes from the infinite desert landscapes surrounding me.
TheyContribute their plants and their monochrome colors. And integreted with biblical verses which I add, they express my deep connection to my historical and geographical roots.
I make most of myself made paper from plants such the Mitnan,(Thymalea hirsuta) a shrub who grows widely , Kozo, palm trees,Agava and other plants that grow in the Israeli Negev landscapes Seen from my home.
My work of Art with integrate traditional elements are transferences from nature into art, from ancient art into a new language, from a traditional technique into a personal one. I often incorporate Biblical texts into my works so to enhance the symbolization of paper as carrier of culture. I find that handmade paper express best the primordial scenes of the desert ,open spaces and earth colors.
